Biographies,

boring chapter books,

and adult books of any kind

If I were in charge of the library,

there would be

books with lots of pictures

and scary thrillers

and exciting chapters

and picture books would be only pictures

If I were in charge of the library,

there would be no

whispering,

or any fines

there would be no walking

or adults of any kind

If I were in charge of the library,

kids could rent R movies

and scream their heads off

and someone who ran around

and threw books on the ground

could still be in charge of the library.

Annabelle waddled over to her. Alice scooped her up in a big bear hug. Then she remembered moments ago how Annabelle ran away.”ANNABELLE!” she yelled infuriated” You naughty, naughty girl you! We do not run away from Alice! she screamed.

Alice glared at Annabelle, her vain throbbing. She looked frightened. She looked ashamed of what she had done. ” Poor girl” Alice thought “Wait! She deserves to feel ashamed!”

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!  Meloney was falling down screaming all the way. THUNK! Another hard landing. Courtney came right after EEKing all the way. “Do you have Annabelle?” Courtney said impatiently “Good now how do we get out? Alice hadn’t thought of that. How would they get out?

“You go through me.” said an unfamiliar voice. Alice jumped and spun around. Was it a rock? A wall? No, a door!Alice stepped closer. “how peculiar.” she thought “Most doors do not have faces!”

     ” Follow me!” yelled Alice. All them ran in the direction the hair bow pointed. Then, as Alice turned a corner, she saw her. She was waddling her way after a rabbit.

              This rabbit was no ordinary rabbit. It had small glasses and a pocket watch. He was yelling ” I’m late I’m late!.” Alice rubbed her eyes. Was she imagining this? Both the rabbit and Annabelle were headed for a rabbit hole.

                 Alice ran after them. She could almost grab her. 5 feet. 4 feet. 3 feet She was gone. Annabelle fell down the hole and disappeared. Alice stopped running and dropped to the floor. She was gone. Alice shed tears. All of her sisters came and knelt beside her. Alice gathered up all the strength she had. ” All we can do is go after her.” she murmured.

            She stood and thought about what she was about to do. Then, suddenly a voice came from behind her. ” ME FIRST ME FIRST!” yelled Ginger. She jumped into the hole. ” There is no way I am going down there.” said Olivia. “Me neither” said Meloney.

         Alice boiled in anger. With out thinking twice she pushed Olivia with all her might. She to disappeared in a sea of screams. Alice jump right in after. Down she fell into the never-ending pit. Falling. Falling. Falling.

                                   Next chapter    Whenever I get to it

First to come rushing down the stairs was Olivia closely followed by Meloney. Both of them were walking while gently brushing their hair. ” I’ll take some fried eggs, toast, and orange juice.” said Olivia. ” Same” said Meloney. Next, coming slowly down was Ginger.

 Ginger was the second youngest child and loved being first. She was always first to finish her breakfast, first to wash her hands, sometimes she complained to Courtney it was unfair that she was born first. Although Ginger was no competition to who was coming in behind her.

      The youngest of the girls, the most curious, and most hated sister of Courtney, was Annabelle.(Anna for short)  Anna is only 3 years old and a mischievous little girl. She is a full-time job, and that job belonged to Alice. Alice was responsible for Anna because she was Anna’s favorite sister. Anna was not exactly Alice’s.

                   Emily of course was running 10 minutes behind schedule. Courtney brought all of the food over to the table. A combination of different smells hit Alice. She did not know where to start. At the end of breakfast, Courtney stood up, and began her morning announcements. ” Today we shall be  continuing our lessons as usual, but today we shall be going to the family tree.”

      After that Alice did not listen to another word. The family tree was where her parents had first met, and during this time of year, all sorts of flowers grew there. Especially in their family garden around the tree. Each flower bed stood for another family member. Alice was so deep in thought she almost did not hear Courtney yelling at her from the back door.

                      Alice hurried along the path to the family tree. She ran to her bed of flowers around the east side of the trunk. Roses grew to extraordinary lengths and filled Alice with joy. “Alice!” screamed Courtney who was slowly making her way along the path.

              Alice climb to her favorite spot. The branch was perfect for resting while listening to Courtney’s dull speeches on grammar. Alice plucked some daisies and weaved them into a crown. She felt like a queen. She layed down and closed her eyes. She imagined her as the queen of everything. She was perfectly calmed until she heard a terrifying scream. Meloney was screaming at the top of her lungs. She cried two words and two words only.Those two words were enough to strike fear into Alice’s heart.

    Those two words were: “Where’s Anna?”

             Courtney, being the first child, was  stuck up, demanding and a volcano of anger waiting to explode. She was in charge while mother was on vacation. “Alice!” yelled Courtney in her usual sour tone. ” Get out of bed!” Now being the only the fourth child, Alice did not have authority to disobey. So Alice jumped out of her trance and hurried to dress herself.

        Then Alice walked out of her room to inform her sisters that breakfast was ready. (This was one of her many chores.) She strolled to the first door. Alice knocked on the door, even though she knew that Emily would not hear her.

    Emily was a fun-loving girl who spoke her mind. She did not take lightly to being bossed around, especially by Courtney. Being the most stubborn and rude of the girls, she was Courtney’s  least favorite sister.

       Alice slowly creaked open the big white door. The inside always frightened her. Clothes on the floor, old food on the desk, and a hideous monster in the bed. Alice cautiously tip toed to the faded shades. Emily continued to snooze in her pile of junk she called a bed. Alice ripped open the shades and the sun’s light flooded the room. Emily only twitched. “You have five minutes before lessons start.” said Alice before quickly leaving the hazardous area.

             Alice continued on. She reached the second door.She knocked quietly for Olivia prefered quiet. “Come in” called Olivia with her sweet voice which she inherited her mother. Alice walked into the room. Inside was an elegant room fit for a queen. At the desk sat Olivia, the third child and the most attractive of the girls. Her hobbies were staring at herself in the mirror, brush her soft, blond hair, and of course supervising while others work. Currently she was brushing her hair while admiring her reflection in the mirror. “Let me guess, I have five minutes.” she asked in a sweet yet annoyed tone. Alice  nodded before leaving the room. The last door she was required to visit was Meloney’s. 

            Meloney, being her oldest younger sister, was always trying to be like Olivia. Meloney was always following around Olivia with a note pad asking her how she got so pretty. Olivia was happy to oblige. Then at the end of every day she would come home and review her notes. Then she would try to become just like Olivia by doing everything she did.

    When Alice walked inside she saw an exact replica of Olivia’s room. And at the desk was Meloney brushing her hair and admiring herself in the mirror as she and Olivia did every morning. “Let me guess, I have five minutes.” she said in her best Olivia impertion. Alice rolled her eyes as she nodded. “Be sure to wake up Ginger and Annabelle.” she said as she left the room
